A need for me to express in art the perfection or imperfection of nature has become my compelling passion.The beauty of a new bud, a well formed rose, a dry leaf, lush fruit, all appear so perfect but on closer inspection reveals their individuallity from others of the same.

 

The wrinkled, papery-thin skin and the twisted shape of a fallen leaf, a seed casing with exposed seeds, a withering petal past its prime, all reveal subtle changes to their original form. This truly is a magical experience to witness. As an artist, to try and capture that exquisitness of nature, presents for me a great challenge, in reproducing on paper that special beauty  which surpasses all other art forms.

Without my previous experience in drawing and painting, recording my botanical subjects would have been impossible. I am delighted to share with you my artwork and my thoughts.
